Hydroponic Cat Grass Growing Guide

Growing TummyTurf at home is easy — just follow these simple steps to create a fresh grazing patch your cat will love.

1: Soak the Seeds
Use enough seeds to evenly cover the top tray and soak them in water for 6 hours. You can use the bottom tray for soaking.
Guide: 50g provides 3 grows approx.  20g provides 1 grow approx.

2: Add the Mat
Place the cocopeat hydroponic mat evenly into the top tray. The mat helps anchor the seeds and supports moisture retention for healthy root growth.

3: Add the Seeds
Spread the soaked seeds evenly across the mat and lightly press them into place.

4: Add Water
Fill the bottom tray with water until the mat begins to draw up moisture. The mat should be wet but not sitting in excess water or fully saturated.
The tray is designed with overflow cut-outs, so excess water will drain if overfilled.

5: Let It Grow
Place the tray in a bright spot out of direct sunlight and away from curious paws. Seeds should begin sprouting within 2–3 days.

6: Keep It Watered
Keep the bottom tray topped up with clean water so the mat stays consistently moist. Avoid overfilling.  The goal is steady moisture, not waterlogging. The tray will drain excess water if overfilled.

7: Ready in 1–2 Weeks
Your TummyTurf cat grass is ready when it is lush, green, and around 7–10 cm tall. Most seeds will have fully sprouted by then.

8: Disposal
The mat is single-use and not reusable. Once finished, discard the mat and any remaining root material.
